How to Deal

  • Each player places their bets. A player has two independent betting options: (1) he/she can place a single wager on the “6 Card Bonus” position and/or (2) he/she can place three wagers on the base game, where each wager must be the same amount, by placing each wager in the appropriate position (e.g., 1X, 3X or 6X). There doesn’t need to be any relation to the amount of the bets placed on the base game to the bet, if any, placed on the “6 Card Bonus,” however, the casino may choose to limit the size of the “6 Card Bonus” bet to a set amount, i.e., 5 dollars. Once all of the players’ bets have been set, the dealer proceeds to the deal.

  • The dealer deals six cards face down to each player as well as six cards to the dealer. Where a shuffling machine is used, each position would be dealt to, even if empty. The dealer’s hand is capped to protect it. Where a shuffle machine is used, the dealer would also stack six cards face down to be used as the community board and cap the stack to protect it. The moves the remaining deck and any cards dealt to unoccupied positions to the discard area.

  • Each player sets his/her hands by placing two cards face down in each of the three squares associated with the 1X, 3X and 6X positions, respectively. There is no limit on how the two-card hands may be set. In other words, there is no requirement that the highest ranking hand be set first, such as in Pai Gow Poker.

  • Once all player hands are set, starting clockwise, each player’s hands are turned face up by the dealer and the dealer evaluates the 6 Card Bonus hand rankings for each player that made a 6 Card Bonus bet. This is done by examining the poker ranking of the hands made by each player using all six of their cards, without regard to any other cards. Therefore, at this stage, the manner in which the players set their hands is irrelevant. Losing 6 Card Bonus wagers are collected and winning hands are paid according to the pay table. The winnings, if any, are removed from the field of play and returned to the players at this time.

  • The deal reveals the dealer hand and arranges the six cards in descending order from highest to lowest. The dealer selects the highest pair from the six cards and sets that as the house hand. If there is no pair, the dealer sets the highest two cards as the house hand. The remaining four cards are discarded. If the dealer has trips or quads, and they encompass the highest pair, the lowest cards by suit will be discarded, where the suit ranking from high to low is Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs. So for instance if the dealer has three Aces, including the Ace of Clubs, the Ace of Clubs would be discarded and the dealer would set the two remaining Aces as the house hand.

  • Using the remaining stack, the dealer would burn the top card to the discard area and deal a five-card board face up in the positions indicated.

  • The dealer would evaluate the house hand by using any five-card combination of house’s starting two card hand and the five community cards on the board. The dealer would indicate the three to five cards from the board that are used to make the house’s best five-card hand by pushing the used cards slightly forward. The dealer would announce the house’s hand.

  • One player at a time, the dealer evaluates the five-card poker hands made by each player using any combination of the five community cards and each of the player’s three two-card hands in the following order (it is not necessary that both player cards be used to make the highest possible five-card poker hand):

  • First the hand associated with 1X wager is evaluated against the house’s hand. If the hand is lower than the house’s hand, the player loses all three wagers. The dealer collects the 1X, 3X and 6X wagers and moves all three of the player’s hands to the discard area, but maintains the set order to resolve any patron disputes. If the player’s hand is higher than the house’s, the dealer pays an amount equal to the 1X wager to the player. If the player and house tie it is a push and the player keeps the 1X wager. In the event of a tie or win by the player, the dealer proceeds to evaluate the hand associated with the 3X wager.

  • The hand associated with the 3X wager is evaluated against the house hand as above. If the hand is lower than the house’s hand, the player loses all the 3X and 6X wagers. The dealer collects the 3X and 6X wagers and moves the associated player’s hands to the discard area, but leaves the winning/tying 1X hand. If the player’s hand is higher than the house’s the dealer pays an amount equal to three times the 3X wager to the player. If the player and house tie it is a push and the player keeps the 3X wager. In the event of a tie or win by the player, the dealer proceeds to evaluate the hand associated with the 6X wager.

  • The hand associated with the 6X wager is evaluated against the house hand as above. If the hand is lower than the house’s hand, the player loses all the 6X wager. The dealer collects the 6X wager and moves the associated player’s hands to the discard area, but leaves the winning/tying 1X and 3X hands. If the player’s hand is higher than the house’s the dealer pays an amount equal to six times the 6X wager to the player. If the player and house tie it is a push and the player keeps the 6X wager.

  • The dealer evaluates the next player’s three hands until all players’ hands have been evaluated as above.

  • Once all players’ hands have been evaluated, the dealer collects the remaining winning/tying hands in reverse order and places them in the discard area. Next the dealer places the five community cards in the discard area and finally the dealer’s two card hand. The discard area now contains 52 cards and is ready to be shuffled for a new game.
